Such an honour to be part of New York Textile Month and my book OUT OF FASHION | THE NEW FASHION is featured in the inspiring, must read, NYTM Magazine Talking Textiles. Beautiful curation, design, pictures and stories put together by Lidewij Edelkoort, Philip Fimmano, Willem Schenk, Janneke Smale, Omar Saiid and many others.
The book OUT OF FASHION | THE NEW FASHION is featured in the Substance issue of Selvedge Magazine #78
It is not that much the finished product that I am interested in. It is the journey, the creation, the transformation, the process of making something from almost nothing. What initially started as a one-year plan soon turned into a decade-long endeavour to capture the endless ways in which time is used and treasured by different makers the world over.
The book Out of Fashion | The New Fashion is part of the Earth Matters Exhibition. This amazing exhibition, curated by Lidewij Edelkoort and Philip Fimmano, with works made by artists and designers like India Flint, Atelier NL, Christien Meindertsma, Formafantasma, Fisher Found, Piet Hein Eek, Sanne Muiser, Dosa, Nacho Carbonyl…. is a tribute to the earth and hope for the future!

One of my favourite shops in Amsterdam is the ‘all white’ Sukha.
It is a shop, it is an atelier, it is a place to sooth your soul, it is a treasure in the city.
Sukha means ‘joy of life’ in Sanskrit. Sukha is a place where beautiful things are conceived, developed and created.
All Sukha products are unique items handmade with love from natural materials together with artisans in India and Nepal.
On Wednesday 17th of May Irene and Sam invited me to have tea in their tipi and sign my book OUT OF FASHION | THE NEW FASHION
I cannot think of a more joyful place to be and sign my book!
