One of my favourite shops in Amsterdam is the ‘all white’ Sukha.
It is a shop, it is an atelier, it is a place to sooth your soul, it is a treasure in the city.
Sukha means ‘joy of life’ in Sanskrit. Sukha is a place where beautiful things are conceived, developed and created.
All Sukha products are unique items handmade with love from natural materials together with artisans in India and Nepal.
On Wednesday 17th of May Irene and Sam invited me to have tea in their tipi and sign my book OUT OF FASHION | THE NEW FASHION
I cannot think of a more joyful place to be and sign my book!
A wonderful start for my book OUT OF FASHION | THE NEW FASHION. Textile View Magazine (issue 117) featured it with 8 full color pages.
Publisher and editor David Shah calls the 412 page book “A prayer book to textiles”.
‘Melting the ice in the heart of man’ that is the mission of Inuit shaman Angaangaq. The first time I met him is more than 15 years ago in New York, after that our paths crossed a few more times on different places in the world. He changes the energy wherever he goes when he ‘sings’ with his qilaut (drum). I had the privilege to travel with him to his home country Greenland. The article and story were first published in the Dutch issue of Happinez in 2012. Very pleased to find it now translated and published in the French Happinez as well.
