More than any of my other work the Iron Lady loves to get the attention from press and photographers.
We had a beautiful feature in the RUM International 08/2019 with stunning pictures made by Piet-Albert Goethals (he is also co- founder of his own serene and minimalistic AKT magazine) and wonderful words by Marlene Tolbod Jakobsen.

‘True Colors’, the latest book by color and crafts expert Keith Recker is an amazing treasure.
A must-read and buy for all who work with, or like to know more about the magical world of organic dyeing.
It starts with my passion for white…

In 2007 my husband and I purchased a rundown farmhouse in the Dutch Countryside.
Although I am not much into publishing my house on my site, somebody said to me the other day, that the design I do for my houses is also art, so here we are.
A few years ago photographer Henny van Belkom came to visit me with the question if he could make pictures of my farmhouse. The latest issue of Country Living Modern Rustic published them for their issue nr 14.
They titled the feature ‘ALL WHITE NOW | a rundown farmhouse in the Dutch countryside has been converted into a timeless, minimalistic live-work space by its artist owner’.
Some changes have been made since the pictures where taken in 2016, but it is still white and minimalistic…

Cheick Siby with one of the AAAA Textile Totems | Picture Birgitta de Vos
Cheick Siby is one of the skilled artisans we worked with in Segou, where we created, under the supervision and with the support of Haram Sidibe a new label called AAAA (Ateliers Autodidacts Anti-Alghorithms).
We selected the Bogolan, a traditional textile art in Mali, and started from here to create a contemporary line of design and art products. The Bogolan connects the makers, not only to their land and past, but also, to their future, and with AAAA it gives them unlimited possibilities in the present.
Creating a Bogolan is a labor-intensive cooperation between people and place. All stages of the making of the AAAA Bogolans are done by hand. From picking the cotton, spinning, weaving, dyeing and hand painting.
Making a Bogolan is a true slow art process and product. With a minimal of means they create products that speak the language of the soul.
Atelier Autodidacts Anti-Algorithms (AAAA) is initially brought together and supported by the United Nations, the EU and the government of Mali.
You can find more info about AAAA, the products and their way of working on their Instagram account @AAAACOOP or online here.

Aging = Beauty
The Iron Lady is beautifully featured in issue nr 10 of the must see and buy Openhouse Magazine.
Amazing pictures by Thibault de Schepper, wonderful words by Toon Anthoni and my favorite places in Amsterdam including Atelier Sukha and Annemieke Boots.
So proud to be with the Iron Lady one of the inspiring artists, designers and places in this rich and soulful twice yearly magazine. The founders and directors Andrew Trotter and Mari Luz Vidal are a creative team with lots of ambition and taste for quality based in Barcelona.
You can purchase your copy, and you should, if you like a top read about inspiring places and creative people at Openhouse.
