For me the new Light year begins during the Winter Solstice and in the Northern Hemisphere that is around the 21st of December.
There are many rituals to celebrate and ensure the rebirth of the Light. Xmas is one of them. Lightening up the dark night, with firework, is another ritual, to express our joy and celebrate the rebirth of the Light.
There is no global consensus when the New Year starts. China and India have their own dates. So why argue over right or wrong timings. Actually every moment has it’s own ending and new beginning.
On the threshold of the old and new there is a void. When one mo(ve)ment comes to an end and the new hasn’t started yet. When ebb is not yet flow. When breathing in is not yet breathing out. And visa versa. When the old is done and the new hasn’t yet begun there is this magical moment of stillness.
This stillness is the birthplace of all there is. It holds the present, past and the future. Happiness, beauty, love, peace and joy live there. It’s a petrol station for the soul.
