In 2015 we found this Dutch cargo boat. With the help of many skilled hands like ‘iron man’ Casper Helldörfer and under the supervision of ‘all is possible’ interim captain Huib Koel the boat transformed in two years.
This awesome lady is now called the IRON LADY AMSTERDAM and has become a Gesamtkunstwerk, a cathedral of crafts, a private gallery, a place to reflect, a space to wonder, a dream catcher, a floating loft, a house boat… She starts her journey of new adventures the 23rd of November 2017…

A hidden gem in Berlin is The Feuerle Collection. A museum, like no other, located in a former Second World War bunker, renovated by John Pawson, of more than 6000 m2 exhibition space.
The vision of Désiré Feuerle, founder of the Feuerle Collection, is to create a Gesamtkunstwerk, a place to experience art through the senses. The museum houses ancient and contemporary art next to each other.
It is minimal, zen-like, dark and timeless. There is a Sound Room, with a piece created by John Cage, but also a Lake Room.
This October, a year after the opening of the museum, the Incense ceremony Master Wang Jun-Chin, arrived from Taiwan, to open the Feuerle Incense Room.
A modern series of incense tools, a table, stools, kimono’s and a golden pincet were designed with the advice of John Pawson, Jerry and Kevin Chan and handcrafted in Taiwan exclusively for the Feuerle Incense Room.
If you want to calm your heart, talk to your soul and cross borders of time and culture go and visit the museum or even better participate in an Incense Ceremony and enjoy the art of incense. The Feuerle Collection is the first and only place in the world where the incense ceremony is introduced as an artistic practice as part of a cultural work in dialogue with, and surrounded by, ancient and contemporary art.
Saturday the 7th October at 5 pm, Livingstone Studio, 36 New End Square
London NW3 1LS

It is not that much the finished product that I am interested in. It is the journey, the creation, the transformation, the process of making something from almost nothing. What initially started as a one-year plan soon turned into a decade-long endeavour to capture the endless ways in which time is used and treasured by different makers the world over.
Initiated by Lidewij Edelkoort, trend forecaster and Dean of Hybrid Studies at The New School (Parsons School of Design) and assisted by Willem Schenk the second edition of the NYTM will take place this September in New York.
The New York Textile Month is a month-long city-wide festival designed to celebrate textile creativity and promote textile awareness. A multiple-location event that will gather all voices and expressions concerning textiles, bringing together museums, galleries, showrooms, retailers, design studio, students and the general public.
During this years New York Textile Month I am invited to give a talk at the NYTM Talking Textile Seminar.
European interior designers, Paul and Sophie Yanacopoulos-Gross will host a book signing of my book Out of Fashion | The New Fashion and will exhibit a selection of my Dressing the Soul art series at their poetic monochrome store HomeStories during NYTM.
