One of my favourite shops in Amsterdam is the ‘all white’ Sukha.
It is a shop, it is an atelier, it is a place to sooth your soul, it is a treasure in the city.
Sukha means ‘joy of life’ in Sanskrit. Sukha is a place where beautiful things are conceived, developed and created.
All Sukha products are unique items handmade with love from natural materials together with artisans in India and Nepal.
On Wednesday 17th of May Irene and Sam invited me to have tea in their tipi and sign my book OUT OF FASHION | THE NEW FASHION
I cannot think of a more joyful place to be and sign my book!
Solo exhibition | installation 23rd of April until 13th of May 2017 DRESSING THE SOUL at Francis Boeske Project Gallery.
A duo presentation of my artworks and my book OUT OF FASHION | THE NEW FASHION.
I didn’t only bring back pictures from my travels, but also textiles. Back home I mix matched and made more than 200 collages.
All these drawings with thread and paintings with textile have another word of value written on the backside, which speaks directly to your soul.
At the exhibition you can choose and buy one or more collages and discover your word(s) on the back and take the artwork(s) straight home with you.
The article with my pictures on Taiwanese Lanterns now also in the International issue of Happinez.

After years of working in the garment industry, setting up my own clothing labels, I took a textile retreat, away from the fast lane of fashion.
My meetings with long forgotten textile makers and methods on my journey around the world resulted in the book OUT OF FASHION | THE NEW FASHION.
It however also inspired me to go slow and create a collection of mini collages and assemblages from textile treasures: DRESSING THE SOUL.
I am very pleased my Art works and Book will be on view in a Solo Show from 23.04.17 until 13.05.17
