One of my favorite places in Hanoi is the Indigo Store. A true blue treasure.
Opposite the Temple of Literature you’ll find this Vietnamese/Japanese shop with the most exquisite handmade Indigo dyed organic cotton and hemp woven items to try, buy and do it yourself. The aim of the Indigo store is to preserve and restore the traditional culture of the Black Tay ethnic minority in Sapa.
Out of fashion is the new fashion. In a half-day tye dye workshop with the charming Hjo I created my own tye dye indigo piece. Forget fashion. Go local.
